Not much time to breath b4 we hop on to another drama.. A new legal drama series call SADIQ & CO. It premiered Fri, 9th Nov on NTV7, 8.30pm.. This time round, I was the Production Designer & had an opportunity to Direct an episode as well.. yes Ep7..So do catch it if U can.
Story revolves around a lawyer, Sadiq, his son & 2 of his partner.
In ep1, Sadiq dies & the plot thickens.
Starring Aaron Aziz, Tony Eusoff,
Eja & Dee..( My all time fav comedian!)
The concept for Sadiq's office was OLD SCHool, British Victorian & what a challenge it was to turn this old Wreck into a Cosy, warm and unique law firm. I love how the wallpaper colour turns out on screen and the furnitures complements the carpet really well.
Check out the changes from an empty space,
we built partitions and transformed it into 7sets
Next we have Bakar's Receptions area, played by Dee...
witty & sarcastic.
A colourful & eclectic character. The red carpet makes the place feel cosy & warm. All these beautiful mess & files were made possible with the help of Bernard who has donated alot of his furnitures & junk to us.. :)
We then go into Ben's room, played by Tony Eusof. The neat freak & quirky character who is the back bone of Sadiq.

Shikin's Room, with a feminine touch. The non- conventional design for a female lawyer's office. Played by EJA. A human rights lawyer,
who believes in helping the less fortunate.
Next is the pantry.. which was built right behind Sadiq's room. It is a cosy place where they lawyers hang out , gossip & have discussion. Nice bright wall paper with little flower prints.
Very british, but unfortunately doesn't look very obvious here.
Conference Room- which shares the same place with Libary.
Last but not least, one of my favourite set, The LIBRARY:

We have a bar specially designed for lawyers to hang out, a.k.a THE BARRISTER.
A classy hip place where lawyers gets to chill out, socialize & go karaoke-ing to unwind..
like Ally Mcbeal...

ARt Dept ...
So lets look at the few interesting scenes we have at G&G..
Where things looks simple, but took a while to get...
1st UP - Fake Jakarta Scene-
Adibah Noor- Cool lady plays Haikals Mama.. Reading the Jakarta Post & magazines..that we flew dwn to Jakarta to buy..
Then, we have Ep3/4- remember the flat tyre scene at Gombak w gang BTB? Oh yes... took 3 crew guys to help us w that.. James ,Chu & Wan.. Kheong on van for accident scene....
Ah then we have the Reza's cycling scene where he fell & cut himself
... watch the blood... Accident scene w the truck ...
THe Finishing Line!! -Putri & gang waiting for Reza's arrival tonnes of balloon being blown up, the long banner sewn by hand (took 1 wk) & the buntings, tonnes of cyclist & extras....
Ep 3/8 - Mia Leaving & Coming back to Jeff.....Our director Bernard engrossed in the "Permission to Kahwin 2 scene.."
Moving up to juicy eps 7-9: where Haikal vandalises Irwans' car... Or in this case, Art dept messes w our Boss's Honda? ooooooOOooo
Then HAikal goes slaps SHasha @ t mamak.. sooo drama...
Have to say, after 20takes..it is
hard not to see red marks on both Sazzy's & Razif's face..very professional.
No worries..Touch UP of foundation always does t trick....
Then of course Shasha gets into an accident with our cameraman & Boom !! She lands herself in Hospital....blood scene was quite tricky... having to conti t blood flow on her face & make sure it doesn't dry up.... Sazzy was very patient indeed...layed there for like 4 hrs.
& of course any drama w an accident is ALWAYS linked to a Coma... So ...Shasha goes into a Coma. But not for long... only for 45mins..cos she gets up by the end of the episode..Hooray!!
Haikal tries to reconcile w balloons & flowers, (some passersby tot he was proposing..ahhaaha) but it was enough for Shasha.. I havta say despite the crazy hassle of the helium balloons, this scene was pretty emotional.. I had a tear in my eye when Shasha cried..
The Balloons were hard to control with the wind blowing fr. all different directions & our cameraman had to try & capture it a few times as they float away...
The next big scene was the Wedding organized by Mia w Putri for Jeff & Ruby... colour theme: Green & cream White.
My 1st experience w Bunga telur & Malay wedding stuff.. had to hand make most things to save budget.. Turned out pretty well I must say: Prep- 2 wks
Then Mia's BABY Shower..a surprise party.
Then we had another romantic scene w Reza & Putri on top of our office roof... a very challenging scene indeed. After a month of prepping, 600 or more folded origami, 50 tea candles & lanterns and 4hrs of set up.. we finally shot the roof scene at 1am .... Once the origamis were up, we had to becareful not to step over them after..
the effect was perfect: we hav turned REZA into a romantic fool... all the viewers shall fall in luvvvv w HIM.... ")
In the mean time, Haikal got all depress and flew back to Jakarta & drown in sorrows..
He
attempts suicide or more like fooling ard w a blunt knife & fakely cuts his wrist... We did attempt to poke his finger to get more blood, but apparently Razif has got real thick skin ahahah, was unsuccessful & we ended up using Art Dept edible yummy blood... ")
So What happens to good old Dearie Irwan?... ah ...poor Shasha.. who does she pick? He pours his heart out to her near a lake...How romantic & she has to decline... Funny story ; we stopped rolling after many takes & left Fahmi & Sazzy to do 1 MORE take on their own.. so they went on & on with their lines for 5 min & the crew CLeared the set.. & they were still oblivious that we were just watching them fr afar.... :) soo funny...
EP13- The finale.. we have Mia finally givin birth to her baby ..
Eddy grows up & is serious about being a man!
As usual , the smallest baby we could get was a few wks old. Had to do some touch up on him while he was sleeping... Owwww...
In the mean time, Ikan made a few blunders along t way in trying to get Dayang. Later on, ends up w Ayu. Si Ayu had this plan bout her & Reza being tangkap basah which will force them to get married..
Ikan was upset of course.. Remember Ayu's lipstick found on the cup.haha..guess who lips was the one tht did it....
Well, all's well & ends well.. final scene was shot at Sports planet... 
Yes a crazy big scene where
once again we turn Reza into a romantic fool..shot this big scene from 10pm till 5am .He proposes to Putri! The clean up after was crazy from all the mess they've made..poppers, spray,petals.. And since it was the last shot for Pierre , the crew decided to throw flour at all the cast.. In the end everyone looked like they just came out from an icing factory... Yes we can get pretty CRazy too...
Last day of shoot - Aug 10th!!! It's a WRAP WRAP WRAP!! Finally... the 3 1/2months of shoot is OVAaa!! So the team went off to TGI & had a BIG MEal... it was GREAt work, strong team, hard working bunch.. GOGO G&G!!! It has been a great Season!! Bernard, Kheong, Angie, Peng, Sharon, Chu, Zol, Wan, James, Jessy & Jenny!!
The Sets ..
So, word was out when 8Tv decided to do another Season of Gol & Gincu II ( a.k.a G&G).. After the Big success of Season 1. HOw very exciting for the fans out there...
Took up the challenging job of Art directing for the latest season of G&G 2. Not only do we have to worry bout getting the look within the budget, but I needed to Conti back many old rooms & props for these characters as well. The good thing was.. Putri was shifting so we could set up an entire new look & design for her house.
Shasha too gets a room, along with Mia's, Haikal's & Reza 's

It was a killer tho havin to set up the previous rooms from scratch. Needed to get the right paint colour & props.. even flooring as well.
